How to host a trivia night in under a minute

You don't need a projector rig, a quizmaster app, or a stack of answer sheets. With Trivia1 you can run a free live trivia night from any screen — players join from their own phones by typing a code, and scores update automatically after every question.

1. Create your game

Head to Host, give your game a name, and choose your categories — general knowledge, geography, history, science, entertainment, music, sports and more. Trivia1 builds the rounds for you, or Pro hosts can load their own custom question banks.

2. Share the join code

Every game gets a 6-character code and a QR poster. Put it on a TV, a shared screen, or drop the link in a group chat. Players join instantly in their browser — no app to download, no account needed to play.

3. Run the rounds

Questions appear one at a time with a countdown timer. Correct answers score points and faster answers score more, so the leaderboard stays exciting to the final question. You control the pace, or let it auto-advance.

4. Crown your winners

The live leaderboard updates after every question and shows the final standings at the end. Want a rematch? Start another round in a tap.

Tips for a great trivia night

  • Mix easy and hard questions so everyone stays in it.
  • Use teams for big groups — share a team link so friends play together.
  • Keep rounds short and punchy; momentum beats marathon rounds.
  • Project the QR code so latecomers can jump in any time.
